The Apollo Pre-construction Team is comprised of a Project Executive, Sr. Project Manager, Project Manager, selected LCM team members, and selected Estimating Staff. Our Pre-con effort is substantial and proactive with an emphasis on true value engineering considering the reality that the systems we employ in your structures should be designed to optimize these systems life cycle. And even though the Pre-con phases of the project will be replaced by construction, the opportunities to provide value added solutions will not end until the systems are commissioned and owner accepted.
Upon award of the project, Apollo Sheet Metal will begin by identifying the critical path milestones of early construction activities such as site utilities and structural concrete. We’ll develop our own schedule that can thread into the master schedule to show our understanding of the project and to aid in coordination. We will also develop our own site logistics plan that will detail our movement through the site and target any areas of specific concern for our safety and the safety of others. Our safety manager will visit the site and with the aid of our Project Executive, develop a site specific safety plan.
Once these early activities have been addressed, full pre-construction services to form the basis for the Guaranteed Maximum Price will occur. It is imperative that the design blends seamlessly with the construction progress. Apollo will pre-detail all MEP systems and build a work package approach to fabrication and installation to maintain the schedule requirements.
Apollo Sheet Metal sees the need to resolve the following issues during the pre-construction phase of the project:
Identify and coordinate scopes of work to assure that under slab infrastructure and pathway is properly placed
Identify and order long lead items
Identify special systems and their requirements
Identify existing systems requiring interface or direct matching
Develop a strong partnership with the decision makers at all levels to insure a good and efficient working relationship
Our experience has proven that by dealing with these issues early in the pre-construction process, the critical needs of the project will be addressed, allowing the project to stay on schedule.
